Cosplayers

/ˈkäzˌplā/

“the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game.”

Cosplay allows people to express their creativity and imagination through creating and embodying a character they admire. It is a form of self-expression that encourages individuals to be creative and share their passion with others, creating a sense of community among fans of various media, such as movies, TV shows, anime, and video games.

It provides a space for individuals with similar interests to come together, share their passion, and form lasting friendships, promoting inclusivity by providing a platform for people of all backgrounds and identities to come together and celebrate their shared interests. Cosplayers can portray characters of any gender, race, or body type; and we celebrate the creativity of all of our cosplayers–regardless of their gender, age, race, religion, & color, so long as they are kind and respectful towards others. Cosplay helps promote representation and inclusivity, both in media and in real life.

For us at Puerto Rico Sekaiju Con, Cosplayers are the hearts, minds, and souls of this wonderful community. They are what drive conventions like ours to better our craft and develop events that will not only serve as an inclusive, welcoming space to all; but also create new memories that will surely leave a lasting impression on our audience.

So, fellow traveler, regardless of who you are, whether you’re a vivid Anime Lover, Manga Bibliophile, Comic Book Aficionado, Furry, Sci-Fi Fanatic, Video Game Enthusiast or are just an overall lover of Pop Culture, all are welcome at Puerto Rico Sekaiju Con.
