Cosplay Contest

Thank you all for your interest! The pre-registration inscriptions for Saturday’s Cosplay Contest are now closed! If you wish to participate in Saturday’s Cosplay Contest, you must arrive early to the event and register at the Cosplay Contest table. Only 10 walk-ins will be accepted and it will be first come, first serve.

Additionally, you can also participate on Sunday’s Cosplay Contest, where no pre-registration will be required!

NOTE: These rules and registration process are for cosplayers interested in participating in Saturday’s Cosplay Contest ONLY! Sunday’s Cosplay Contest WILL NOT require online registration.

RULES (English Version):

REGISTRATION LIMIT

A maximum capacity of 60 cosplayers will be allowed to register for Saturday’s Cosplay Contest. Only 10 walk-ins will be permitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

EVALUATION PROCESS

You will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Craftsmanship
  • Attention to Detail
    • Makeup
    • Wig Styling
    • Attitude
    • Shoes
    • Cleanliness
    • Good First Impression
  • Originality/Creativity
    • Alterations
    • Props made by you
    • Cosplay is a mixture of bought items and hand-crafted items
  • Acting / Performance

CRITERIA TO FOLLOW

  • Please try to keep accurate documentation on your Instagram Account by creating a HIGHLIGHT on your profile so that each photo or video is saved for the judges. It is very IMPORTANT that you tag all 3 judges (it doesn’t matter if you don’t follow each other), which are @jonapollo15, @midoris.cosplay and @izunacosplay. In the case that you forgot to document something, the judges will still ask you questions in order to cover everything and leave nothing out.
  • If your cosplay is secret, or you don’t want to post photos about the process until the day of the competition on Instagram, you can create a Google Drive Slides document to be able to have documentation on the process and add the judges in it (midoriscosplays@gmail.com, izunacosplay@gmail.com, jonapollocosplay@gmail.com). Thus, the judges can see the process. (No photo or video you put into the slide show will be used improperly and will not be mismanaged by any of the judges without their consent. Remember to change the access to “everyone with the link” or “public” so that judges can access your submission.)
  • If you purchased your cosplay but made alterations to it, you must explain what they were.
  • If you bought/didn’t work/someone else made your entire cosplay and didn’t change anything on it, YOU WILL LOSE POINTS in the CRAFTSMANSHIP and ORIGINALITY/CREATIVITY portion of the evaluation.
  • ACTING/PERFORMANCE will be an IMPORTANT part of the evaluation. Contestants are urged to prepare a presentation. Each participant will have up to 3 minutes for their performance. If you do not know what to perform or choose not to perform, YOU WILL LOSE POINTS.
  • We also consider CLEANLINESS and a GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION of your cosplay IMPORTANT.
  • It is imperative to follow these criteria in order to carry out an accurate and fair evaluation.

CRITERIOS A SEGUIR

  • Intente mantener una documentación precisa en su cuenta de Instagram creando un HIGHLIGHT en su perfil para que cada foto o video se guarde para los jueces. Es muy IMPORTANTE que etiquetes a los 3 jueces (no importa si no se siguen entre sí), los cuales son @jonapollo15, @midoris.cosplay and @izunacosplay. En el caso de que haya olvidado documentar algo, los jueces le harán preguntas sobre el mismo para así cubrir todo y no omitir nada.
  • Si tu cosplay es secreto, o no quieres publicar fotos sobre el proceso hasta el día de la competición en Instagram, puedes crear un documento en la plataforma de Google Drive para poder tener documentación sobre el proceso y agregar a los jueces en el mismo (midoriscosplays@gmail.com, izunacosplay@gmail.com, jonapollocosplay@gmail.com). Así, los jueces pueden ver el proceso. (Ninguna foto o video que coloque en la presentación se utilizará incorrectamente y ninguno de los jueces lo compartirá sin su consentimiento. Recuerde cambiar el acceso a” todos con el enlace ” o “público” para que los jueces puedan acceder a su envío.)
  • Si compraste tu cosplay pero le hiciste modificaciones, debes explicar cuáles eran.
  • Si compraste/no trabajaste / alguien más hizo todo tu cosplay y no cambió nada en él, PERDERÁS PUNTOS en la parte de ARTESANÍA y ORIGINALIDAD / CREATIVIDAD de la evaluación.
  • La ACTUACIÓN será una parte IMPORTANTE de la evaluación. Se insta a los concursantes a preparar una presentación. Cada participante dispondrá de hasta 3 minutos para su actuación. Si no sabe qué realizar o elige no realizar, PERDERÁ PUNTOS.
  • También consideramos importante la LIMPIEZA y una BUENA PRIMERA IMPRESIÓN de tu cosplay.
  • Es imperativo seguir estos criterios para llevar a cabo una evaluación precisa y justa.
