Cosplay Guidelines

We ask our users to please read and follow along with these cosplay guidelines, so we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at Puerto Rico Sekaiju Con 2024. Thank you for your cooperation!

Costume Guidelines

  • Most cosplays will be acceptable for our event.
  • We do ask that all costumes be appropriate for a family-friendly environment.
  • Cosplays should not contain any obscene or offensive language, gestures, or behavior.
  • Any costume that includes props/weapons must conform to Puerto Rico Sekaiju Con’s Props/Weapons policy (see below).
  • Cosplays must be worn safely, without obstructing pathways or causing a hazard to others.
  • Please ensure that your costume is secure and does not easily come apart or fall off.

Props/Weapons Policy

  • All props will be thoroughly checked by convention security before being brought onto the premises.
  • There are no size/weight limits for any props brought into any Sekaiju convention.
  • Weapons that are real, functioning or have sharp metal edges are not allowed.
  • All prop weapons must be checked and approved by the security team, and must be easily distinguishable as a prop.
  • If you are carrying a prop weapon, please make sure it is easily identifiable as a fake or prop.
  • Do not brandish or point weapons at other people, and always handle weapons responsibly.

Behavior Guidelines

  • COSPLAY IS NOT CONSENT. Always ask before taking a picture or touching someone’s costume or props.
  • Please be respectful of other attendees and their personal space.
  • Aggressive behavior, fighting, or harassing other attendees will not be tolerated.
  • Use of profanity or inappropriate language is prohibited.
  • Any behavior that endangers or causes harm to other attendees will not be tolerated and will be reported to security.
  • Please respect the venue and its facilities, and do not cause damage to any property.

Photography Guidelines

  • Always ask for permission before taking someone’s picture.
  • Respect the wishes of those who decline to have their picture taken.
  • We recommend the use of our Photo District for pictures/impromptu photo-ops.
  • Avoid using flash photography near people with light sensitivity or epilepsy.

Violation of any of these guidelines may be grounds for dismissal and expulsion from our event.
