About Us

Our story began as an experimental event designed to offer a new convention experience to the Puerto Rican community. The event was created by Viviana Delgado Nieves (Show Producer) and the company; “Eventos Pal’ Pueblo”, a Puerto Rican Production Company that generates events island-wide, promoting Local Entrepreneurship.

Since our inception in 2022, we have become one the fastest-growing pop-culture conventions on the island, quickly becoming one of the focal events for all things pop culture and have been dubbed as the Biggest Anime Convention in Puerto Rico. Our mission is to offer a quality experience in a family environment for lovers of anime, manga, video games, cosplay, fandoms, and pop culture in Puerto Rico.

Sekaiju (seh-kai-joo): is derived from the Japanese words “sekai” (世界), meaning “world,” and “ju” (樹), meaning “tree.” Together, “Sekaiju” symbolizes the “World Tree,” a concept represented on our logo, meant to represent unity, growth, and interconnectedness across our culture and audience with the other potential worlds across the many realms of pop culture, including anime, manga, video games, cosplay, fandoms, and more. This interconnection has been displayed throughout our 6-show history by having multiple franchises represented during our show with the presence of multiple world-renowned special guest voice actors, stellar cosplay meetups, and activities surrounding the theme of each passing year.

Since the debut of the Pilot Project, we have produced a total of 6 events under the Sekaiju Con Brand. With each passing show, we were able to establish a trend of a consistent growth in production value, the variety of content we offer, and the reach of our impact on the community and general public.

Our most recent flagship show (September 2024) generated a SOLD OUT attendance of more than 8,000 audience members throughout the 2-Day show. In addition, our smaller scale Winter Edition show also SOLD OUT with an impressive 3,500+ audience attendance throughout the 2-Day show.

On August 30th – 31st, 2025, Puerto Rico Sekaiju Con will return with its flagship show, which promises to be one of the most important pop-culture events of the year on the island with an unprecedented lineup of Special Guests and surprises. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
